FAQs

WHAT ARE WAX MELTS?

Wax melts are like a wick-less candle! They are a mixture of wax & fragrance, they need to be used in a wax melt burner / warmer. Wax melts are small but mighty, they have a strong, long lasting scent throw & are much more affordable than a candle!

HOW DO I USE WAX MELTS?

Simply snap off a piece of wax from your snap bar & place it in your wax burner / warmer.

HOW MANY PIECES OF WAX MELT SHOULD I USE AT ONE TIME?

The amount you use depends on the size of room your using your wax melts in and how strong you'd like your scent to be. Typically the more you use, the stronger the scent throw. However most of our melts are strong enough that you will only need to use 1-2 piece of a regular snap bar or 2-4 pieces of a large snap bar.

I would suggest:

Smaller rooms (bathrooms, bedrooms) use x1 piece

Larger open areas x2+ pieces

WILL THE WAX EVER EVAPORATE?

No, your wax melt will never evaporate. This means once the melt is no longer producing scent or you'd like to change it for a new scent then you have to remove the old melt from your burner.

HOW DO I CHANGE MY WAX MELTS?

SHOULD I USE AN ELECTRIC WARMER OR A TEA LIGHT BURNER?

Tea light Burners: Will almost instantly release a stronger scent, however the scent will burn off quicker as they typically get much hotter than an electric warmer. They will fill a large area with scent very quickly.

Electric Warmers: Will produce a softer, long lasting lingering scent. You may find yourself using more wax melt to get a stronger scent throw as they don't get as hot as an open flame.

To sum it up: Hotter=Stronger scent throw, so if you like strong scents I recommend a tea light burner.

Both are suitable but everyone has preferences. See linked post for the debate on what our customers prefer!

WHY DO SOME OF MY WAX MELTS HAVE WHITE SPOTS OR ARE SUDDENLY CHANGING COLOURS?

Are your wax melts changing colour over time?

This is normal.. Due to changes in climate when being shipped or stored you may notice your melts start to change colour. This is because soy wax doesn't like changes in temperature, it is nothing to worry about & will not change the performance of the melt.

White spots AKA frosting is a natural effect of soy wax. Frosting is the natural wax re-crystallizing & trying to return to its natural state.  This is a sign that the wax being used is 100% natural & is very pure. It is perfectly normal & will not affect the performance of your melts, it is purely cosmetic.

WAX MELT SAFETY:

- NEVER ADD WATER

- NEVER LEAVE UNATTENDED

- AVOID FLAMMABLE ITEMS

- USE A STABLE, HEATPROOF SURFACE WHEN BURNING

- NEVER MOVE A WAX MELTER WHILST IN USE

- KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN & PETS

- BURN FOR 4 HOURS MAX AT A TIME

- NEVER USE 8 HOUR TEA LIGHTS
